Today I had the first ever playgroup at my house. It was a rather impromptu thing but it was fine. I find play dates to be a way to sit around, let your kids run out all of their energy, and then crash into a, fingers crossed, two hour nap afterward. It's the best thing ever.
This particular play date was rather interesting because two of the three women who came aren't exactly friends of mine...we are always cordial. Yes I've known them for awhile but there have been dark clouds on the horizon and I was expecting quite a storm but alas I was wrong. It was fine, actually quite lovely. We had lots of sweets, nice conversation, a few time outs, and a few falls but all in all it was fine. Certainly something to repeat in the upcoming weeks.
